Sandfire was proud to once again be the Major Sponsor of the 2022 Perth Gem and Mineral Show, hosted by the Mineralogical Society of Western Australia.
This event is the premier mineralogical and geoscience event within Western Australia, and brings together mineral enthusiasts, mining professionals, government agencies, museums, academics and students, prospectors, and the general public.
Exhibitors offer selected assortments of locally and internationally sourced crystals, gemstones and rough lapidary material.
Sandfire recognises the importance of preserving mineral heritage, and the Perth Gem and Mineral Show is a fantastic event which allows us to showcase our legacy and inspire curiosity in the next generation.
Sandfire was also pleased to have raised $13,242 from the event selling mineral specimens from our DeGrussa Copper Operations. The funds raised were donated to the EON Foundation to support their ‘Thriving Communities Program’ at the Meekatharra District School, which aims to reduce preventable and chronic diseases caused by poor nutrition. This program helps communities establish edible gardens and teaches children and their families about the importance of good nutrition.
