At our MATSA Copper Operations in south-western Spain, our team was recently awarded the ‘Gold Medal of the Province of Huelva’, from the Huelva Provincial council.
This award is granted by the council to individuals and companies who support the economic and social growth within the Huelva region.
Our team was recognised for the contribution they make to the development of the territory, particularly with the generation of employment opportunities within the region. Currently, MATSA’s activities generate 4,000 jobs (including direct, indirect and induced), and over 80% of our permanent workforce come from the neighbouring towns within Huelva.
We were also recognised for the positive social programs and local development initiatives that are run within the region.
