Sandfire presents at AusIMM Mine Geology Conference

Over the last two years, Sandfire Project Geologist, Roseanna Dale, has collaborated with the team at Sandfire MATSA to study and report on the geometallurgical properties of Sandfire’s Sotiel, Aguas Teñidas and Magdalena mines.

The study has helped the team at MATSA better define the geological variability of ore before it reaches the processing plant, enabling the team to modify parameters at the plant to maximise recoveries and product quality.

Rosie presented the findings of this study, which was completed in collaboration with Michael Biven, Aaron Claflin, Jose-Andreas Gonzales and Miguel Puerto, at the AusIMM Mine Geology conference in Perth.

Sandfire Project Lead Assurance and Business Improvement, David Wilson, attended Rosie’s presentation, and shared that it was a well-received and engaging talk and a credit to the work Rosie completed alongside her colleagues at Sandfire MATSA.

“This recognition from industry peers reflects Rosie’s hard work and collaboration with the MATSA team.”

“It was an opportunity to demonstrate the underpinning technical capability and excellence of Sandfire’s approach to maximising value at MATSA,” David said.
